IEM-TAPING

Except for ordinary audience recordings made with external microphones and mostly digital recorders or DAT-recorders these days, there´s also some tapers that also focus on so-called "IEM-Taping". We got the chance to ask some questions from a "IEM-taper" located in USA. Here´s what the taper had to say about IEM-recordings. How would you describe “In Ear Monitors” (IEM) for  those who doesn´t know what it is?  Most amplified live music has an onstage monitor system for band members to hear themselves.  In traditional settings, there were wedge monitor speakers at the lip of the stage, each with a mix  specifically designed for an individual player. Guitar players often monitored their guitars by the sound  coming from their amplifier.

INTERVIEW - ZEMENT - 2026: The German alternative band Zement will hit the roads of Sweden in the beginning of April 2026. They will share the stage with Swedish band, ”Östersjöar”, and we are very thrilled to bring you this interview with Philipp ahead of the Swedish tour:                                                               Photo by:  Benjamin Brückner     First of all, thank you for the interview. How are you doing at the beginning of 2026? Thanks, we’re doing well. Our long-term friend and producer Florian Helleken (who played most of our 2025 shows live with us) joined the band on electric bass at the end of last year, and we’ve started fresh as a three-piece in 2026. We’ve already played a couple of shows this year and started working on a new album as a power trio. I...
