Spacebandit

FOR MR.SPACEBANDIT - R.I.P:

This goes out to our beloved taper Rudi (Mr.Spacebandit) who´s now rocking with all the great musicians in heaven. He was a truly inspiring human being who always spoke his mind and you always knew what he thought about different genres of music. Above all Rudi mostly loved space, kraut, psychedelic, post rock and various instrumental bands. He told me a couple of times that he especially loved Motorpsycho (probably his favorite band), but also Mother Engine, Colour Haze, Papir, Monkey 3 etc.

His love for music was very deep and wholeheartedly. He loved to tape all these great bands around Germany and he also helped out so many other folks with their recordings. Every week we would hold our breathes to see what new recordings he would upload on Dime. It was always a pleasure to listen to all the high quality recordings that Spacebandit would upload to our taping community.

I also recall with great joy, that Rudi always tried to learn a couple of phrases in different languages. He knew "God Jul", "Hej", Tack så mycket" in Swedish for example.

I would also like to send over a big "In Memoriam" to both Rudi and to Adam Törnblad (former drummer of Moonlit Sailor) which is the band I selected in honour of Rudi´s taping life on this planet.

I recorded Moonlit Sailor back in 2015-09-09 (almost 10 years ago now) when they supported one of Rudi´s favorite post rock bands, "God Is An Astronaut". Moonlit Sailor sadly lost their, then, only 27 years old drummer, Adam, who was one of the original members of Moonlit Sailor. This came as a big shock to the instrumental rock community.

I am sure that Rudi and Adam can rock out all the greatest tunes together in heaven now. So many good tapes can be made by Rudi from up above now!

To Rudi (Mr.Spacebandit) - Thank you so much for being a very cool and excellent taper and colleague to us all!

We hope we can keep up and share many great recordings in your loving memory!

Light one up and keep on rocking above Mr.Spacebandit!

It´s hard to come across a band with such diverse and professional musicianship as the Swedish Gypsy-Folk-Rock band “Crash Nomada”. Kebnekajse Bagarmossen 2025-12-13

KEBNEKAJSE - RECENSION - BAGARMOSSEN - 2025-12-13 Sveriges högsta berg och band, Kebnekajse, kallade musikfolket till Bagarmossens Folkets Hus denna Luciaprogg´s kväll i mörka december. Tillsammans med Wasa Express och Jan Hammarlund så förgyllde de denna trivsamma kväll.   Förväntan var stor när Kebnekajse äntrade scenen och drog igång med ”Leksands Skänklåt”. Som vanligt fanns det bitar som bandet utvecklade med denna låt även denna konsert. Hela bandet fick plats att briljera och visa varför de fortfarande är Sveriges bästa folkrockmusiker anno 2025.   Sedan blev det dags för en av Kebnekajses stora begivenheter, nämligen den klassiska ”Hårgalåten”, med sitt distinkta malande som senare fortgår med lite ylande gitarrer som nästan blir lite bluesiga, för att avslutas med härliga folkrocktoner. IEM-TAPING

Except for ordinary audience recordings made with external microphones and mostly digital recorders or DAT-recorders these days, there´s also some tapers that also focus on so-called "IEM-Taping". We got the chance to ask some questions from a "IEM-taper" located in USA. Here´s what the taper had to say about IEM-recordings.
